What makes Cloudy Soap different from drugstore bar soap?

Drugstore soap is typically made with sulfates and synthetic detergents that strip your skin's natural oils. Cloudy Soap is handmade in small batches using cold-pressed plant oils, shea butter, and real essential oils — no sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, or artificial dyes. The result is a bar that cleanses gently and conditions in the same wash.

Which Cloudy Soap bar is best for sensitive skin?

For sensitive or easily-irritated skin, we recommend the Petals bar (floral, shea-butter base) or the Peppermint bar (clean, refreshing, no synthetic fragrance). Both are sulfate-free, paraben-free, and use real essential oils instead of synthetic perfume. For oily or combination skin, the unscented Activated Charcoal bar is our fragrance-free option. How long does a handmade soap bar last?

With daily face and body use and proper drainage between uses, a Cloudy Soap bar typically lasts 3–4 weeks. The single biggest factor in bar longevity is keeping it dry between uses — a draining soap dish like our Wooden Soap Dish or Non-Slip Mesh Tray can extend bar life by 30–50%.

Are Cloudy Soap bars vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes. Every bar is plant-based, vegan, and cruelty-free. We don't use animal-derived ingredients, and neither we nor our suppliers test on animals. Full ingredient lists are on each product page and on our Ingredients & Safety page.

Can I use Cloudy Soap bars on my face?

Petals, Peppermint and Activated Charcoal are formulated for daily face and body use. The Coffee Exfoliating bar is made for the body only — facial skin is more delicate, so a finer exfoliant is a better fit there. If you're new to handmade soap or have reactive skin, patch-test first: lather on the inside of your forearm, rinse, and wait 24 hours before using on your face.

How is Cloudy Soap shipped, and how long does delivery take?

We ship handmade bars in recyclable paper packaging within 1–2 business days of order. Domestic US delivery typically arrives in 3–7 business days, and shipping is free on orders of $40 or more. We also ship to Canada and the United Arab Emirates at carrier rates shown at checkout. Tracking is sent to your email as soon as your order ships.

What if I don't like it? Can I return it?

Unopened bars can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. For hygiene reasons we can't take back soap that's been opened or used. If anything arrives damaged or incorrect, email us within 14 days with a photo and we'll replace it or refund you, shipping included. Full details are on our Return Policy page.
